General Information

We strive to help our patients retain their natural teeth for a lifetime.  Our team places a high priority on attending to each of our patient's comfort, emergency needs, and follow-up care.  An extensive medical history, dental history, and pre-treatment diagnostic protocol is standard to insure that each of our patients receive the most appropriate and thorough treatment.  We also perform thorough follow-up and recall examinations when necessary.

We believe that our office plays an essential and integral part in each of our patient's dental health.  We can only accomplish this by being part of a team led by the general dentists and supported by specialists when called upon.  Our office works closely with the referring dentist's team to provide our patients with the best care possible.  We appreciate the confidence that your dentist has shown in us by referring you to our office for your endodontic treatment.  Upon completion of treatment in our practice, we will send the appropriate reports and records back to your dentist for your continued care

Dr. Budig was raised in Great Bend, Kansas and graduated from Great Bend High School in 1993.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Biology at the University of Kansas in 1997, and received his DDS degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2002.  In addition to spending time in the UMKC dental clinic, he treated patients at the Jackson County Jail, The Kansas City School for the Blind, and traveled to Venezuela to treat orphaned children.  Following graduation, Dr. Budig was proud to become the first full-time dentist for the Douglas County Dental Clinic in Lawrence, Kansas.  After serving at the Douglas County Dental Clinic for a year, Dr. Budig started his private practice in Lawrence.  Dr. Budig practiced general dentistry in Lawrence for four years before being accepted into the endodontic residency program at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he received his Specialty Certificate in Endodontics.  During his residency, Dr. Budig conducted several research studies and was published in the June, 2008 issue of the Journal of Endodontics for his work on the application of non-hydrated MTA.

Dr. Budig is a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Kansas Dental Association, and the Fifth District Dental Society.  He is a Board-eligible member of the American Association of Endodontists and has already completed the written portion of the board certification examination.  Only 21% of endodontists complete this rigorous process.

Dr. Budig’s personal interests include spending time with his family, following the Jayhawks and Chiefs, and working diligently to improve his golf game.  He lives nearby with his wife Kristeena and their three young children.  Dr. Budig is committed to serving this community for the remainder of his career and will work closely with your restorative dentist to provide you with the best possible care.
